6:00 PM—The Film Society of Little Rock and the Oxford American magazine are proud to welcome bestselling, award-winning author Armistead Maupin to the 2017 Kaleidoscope Film Festival for a dinner in his honor at South on Main [1304 Main Street, Little Rock] on Monday, August 14, beginning at 6:00 PM.
Tickets for this event (and the entire festival) can be purchased on the Kaleidoscope website. General Admission tickets are $35 (includes meal and one drink ticket). Private Meet & Greet tickets are $100 (includes a signed book, meal, and one drink ticket).
The dinner will feature a conversation with Armistead, led by Sara A. Lewis, Assistant Editor of the Oxford American. Following the conversation, he will be presented with the inaugural Kaleidoscope Career Achievement in Literature Award. The evening will also feature an interactive Q&A session following the conversation, as well as an opportunity to purchase a book to be autographed by Armistead.
Armistead is most widely known as the author of the bestselling author of the Tales of the City book series, which has been adapted into a Peabody Award-winning television miniseries, starring Olympia Dukakis and Laura Linney.
This will be the legendary author’s first visit to the state of Arkansas.
The 2017 Kaleidoscope LGBT Film Festival is to be held from August 11-19, at the Argenta Community Theater [405 Main Street, North Little Rock].
